Add a Custom Text Icon
From within the design editor, select a Menu Item within a Menu Group, and from the text editing window, select +Icon.
Beneath Custom Text Icons, click the +.
A text entry field will appear.
Enter the desired text, and hit enter/return.
GFO for "Gluten Free Option" was added for this example.
Apply the Custom Text Icon by clicking the text.
The Custom Text Icon will be applied to the designated Menu Item.
Style Custom Text Icons
To apply font formatting to Custom Text Icons, within Format > Style, scroll down to Icons.
Use the formatting options to set the desired styling.

Add a Custom Text Icon to a Menu Item
After the initial creation of a Custom Text Icon, add the icon to another item by selecting the desired Menu Icon, and selecting +Icon from the text editing window.
Apply the previously created Custom Text Icon by either clicking on the text icon seen beneath This Menu, or by clicking the text beneath Custom Text Icons.
Either selection option will apply the Custom Text Icon.
Edit a Custom Text Icon
To edit a Custom Text Icon, in the text editing window, select the Pencil icon to the left of the text.
The text entry field will appear.
Make the desired edit(s), and hit enter/return.
In this example, GFO for "Gluten Free Option" was edited to show as GFA for "Gluten Free Available".
The Custom Text Icon will update, and all instances of the icon will reflect the change.
Remove a Custom Text Icon
To remove a Custom Text Icon, select the X to the right of the text.
This will remove the Custom Text Icon, but not remove instances of its application.
Remove the application of the icon by clicking on the icon.
Select the Trash can icon to delete.
The icon will be removed from the selected Menu Item.
